  1. I would like to thank everyone who helped with and/or attended the 2018 Albir Convention. I had a great time and was delighted to help organise and play a part in what was hopefully a thoroughly enjoyable weekend for all concerned!
Here’s to 2019 with details to hopefully follow after the 27th May.

  2. This was the best convention we’ve seen at Albir over the past few years. With an incredibly short time to organise everything, Ean ensured everyone had a memorable few days. Really looking forward to 2019!

  3. Thank you to everyone for the best meetings I have been to. I loved the roof top meeting, extremely friendly and full of love and fellowship. Just amazing.
At the end, I was in tears, as the man with 42 years of sobriety lit a candle, and asked me to blow it out, as I had the least sobriety.
He then hugged me and told me to follow him (in my bad Spanish I said I would)
Finally, I was given the ecclesiastical beautiful candle to look after, and told to bring it back next year to be able to pass to the new person.
Quite a wonderful experience, I’ll see you all next year.

  4. I would like to thank you all for organizing such a great convention. Filled with love and kindness. Great meetings and shares and I loved the entertainment on Saturday evening. I’ll be back!

reception to the lower floor, where all the action gathered, was a stroke of genius. The atmosphere was lively, happy,
Very friendly & lots of fun.
It was so good to be a part off.
    Thanks for the happy time.

  6. What a lovely experience it was going to the Albir Convention this year. I saw the website and thought ‘I’d like to go there’ , and so I did. For me it was easy as I only live a few miles away, but for those coming from distant lands, the opportunity to come to the Convention and explore this beautiful area is a treat in store. Thank you to all who made it happen, and to the sun for shining on us.

  7. This was my first AA convention and it was absolutely fabulous. From the check in to the hotel, facilities, organization, communication was first class. My understanding the English speaking part only came together a few short weeks prior and I have to say, you would not have known it. Thank you to all who made it possible as I needed to get away to some warmth and sun and looked on the website and low and behold here it was just what I needed. Calm, serenity, relaxation, wonderful people who shared what I needed to hear.
Also a big thank you from the bottom of my heart to Ean for providing a couple of us who stayed on to take us to the meetings after the convention. Meeting wonderful warm generous people was a precious gift.
Ean, was the contact for the English speaking portion of the convention and his attention to detail, follow up and follow through was greatly appreciated. He was very quick to respond to email as well as text and whats app.
I hope to be able to be involved next year in anything that I am able to help with.
The people who spoke at the meetings shared some wonderful and heartfelt stories that touched me and still do a week after returning. I will hold some of those close to my heart to help me when I am in need of hearing them again.
One of the highlights was the sing song on the Saturday evening and I think that those who where there had a really joyful time.
Sunday was most amazing to witness the program of recovery in every person there from 42 years sobriety to one week. How blessed we all truly are. I hope to see all who can come next year and I look forward to spreading the word in hopes many more can experience this wonderful weekend.

  8. This, convention I can thoroughly recommend.
ALBIR is on the Costa Blanca of Spain and Alicante, the airport , is only an hour’s drive away. Everyone may know of BENIDORM, but may be unaware that this part of Spain is rich in AA MEETINGS! Not SURPRISING, you may think, whether you love or avoid such a well known holiday destination!
ALBIR is on the coast with a long beautiful seafront, modern pedestrianised areas, accessible shops, bountiful eateries and comfortable hotels. The number 10 local bus, can help you easily access other small coastal towns like Altea and Benidorm The scenery is beautiful, and the weather delightfully warm and sunny.
I went out for the convention itself,l rather than as a tourist, and the total experience was one I can thoroughly recommend. It was well organised and welcoming, with a high quality of ‘table shares,’ and very positive, messages of ‘experience strength and hope’. There were English and Spanish speaking meetings, and translation when required. I met a real variety of like minded folk , and many countries were represented.
One meeting was held on the roof garden and had a spectacular view !
BEYOND ONES WILDEST DREAMS is just what that was. On the last evening of my stay which was a Monday, I managed to catch a live performance of La Traviata where at the end the audience rose to its feet, with calls of BRAVO, BRAVO. Another vivid Higher Power experience! And I was most definitely in Spain.
My sincere thanks to all the organisers of this magic AA opportunity.

  9. Aside from the convention taking place in the beautiful coastal destination of Albir (close to the national park with amazing coastal views – adding to a relaxing and healing experience), I found the international element very enriching too, especially memorable when we all joined together for the countdown. Lovely people, beautiful place and wonderful convention. Thanks
